BAFTX thanks BABC for support in 2009

BAFTX was delighted to receive a check from the British American Business Council (BABC) at their annual AGM, at the Marriott Hotel, Briar Park, Houston.  On hand to receive the check was Susan Howard, BAFTX President and John Carrig, BAFTX Board Member and Treasurer.  This donation ensures that BAFTX can continue to offer life-changing opportunities to those who need it the most. BAFTX meets Royalty

Susan Howard met with HRH Prince of Wales at Clarence House, London at the launch of the Prince of Wales Innovation Scholarship Program. 

BAFTX recently joined in partnership with the program which will be managed by the University of Wales.  The Prince of Wales Innovation Scholarship will place doctoral researches within participating Welsh business, for three years and ultimately leading to a PhD from the University of Wales, Swansea.  BAFTX will support one of 10 students from Texas who will be honored with this opportunity. BAFTX is excited about the opportunity to be part of this prestegious progam and will continue to expand and grow our mission to reachout to hard working students that are hindered in reaching their potential.  For more information on this scholarship go to

BAFTX joins Houston Community College

BAFTX President, Susan Howard and Carole Serjeant, Executive Director presented Houston Community College with a check for $18,000 to support qualified HCC students studying science, technology or international business.  The presentation took place during the meeting of the HCC Board of Trustees Thursday, June 25th at the HCC administration building.

Previously, this year's five talented HCC students and their parents joined the BAFTX Board and fellow scholarship receipients from Schools and Universities around the Texas area, at the BAFTX Awards Ceremony on May 20th 2009.

BAFTX Board Member, John Carrig presented the HCC students with their awards.  John stated he had began his own educational journey at a community college and congratulated HCC's work in Houston.
